Amgen Tour of California
The 8th annual Amgen Tour of California is coming to Montecito and Santa Barbara! The eight day tour, in which sixteen of the top professional cycling teams will race, runs for 750 miles beginning in Escondido and finishing in San Francisco. The Tour benefits Amgen's Breakaway from Cancer, a nonprofit which aims to increase awareness about the resources available for cancer patients, from education and prevention to advocacy and financial support. Today the race will enter Montecito from Foothill, up to Toro Canyon Road and onto East Valley Road. It continues down to East Beach and through Santa Barbara up to Highway 154, where it will continue through Avila Beach and on through northern California.
