Cook, Style, Shoot: A Collaborative Workshop with Kendra Aronson & Farmbelly

Family 1st Thursdays: Custom Greeting Cards and Calligraphy Workshop with Suemae Willhite

Where: SB Museum of Art | When: May 3rd, 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Bring the whole family to enjoy 1st Thursday together in SBMA’s Family Resource Center. Museum Teaching Artists are available to assist families in creating special exhibition-based art projects. Afterwards, enjoy the galleries until 8 pm.


Studio Sunday on the Front Steps

Where: SB Museum of Art | When: May 13th, 1:30 – 4:30pm

Visitors of all ages are welcome to participate in this hands-on workshop with SBMA Teaching Artists on the Museum’s front steps. On the second Sunday of each month participants explore a different medium, including clay, metal, ink, wood, photography, and paper. All projects are inspired by works of art in the Museum’s permanent collection or special exhibitions. Participants also receive free passes for entrance to the museum.

Folded Hills Pope Challenge

Where: Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club | When: May 6th, 2 – 7:30pm

The 2018 Polo Season kicks off on Sunday, May 6. The Sunday Polo main match check in time is 2:30 pm at the Engel & Völkers Polo Stadium, with the Pony Parade, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, team introductions and then the ball throw in at 3:00 pm.

Bread & Butter: Workshop with Oat Bakery and Farmbelly

Where: Farmbelly | When: May 4th, 7 – 9pm

Learn about the art of baking superfood bread with Louise Ulrich and Lou Fontana, of Oat Bakery. You'll also learn how to source, store, chop, and cook with culinary herbs (and how to make homemade butter!) with farmer + chef Michelle Aronson, of the Farmbelly Cooking School. This is an engaging hands-on class, and each person will make 3 buns of bread, as well as a custom herb butter.

Growing & Cooking with Edible Flowers

Where: Municipal Winemakers | When: May 24th, 7 – 9pm

Edible flowers add a pop of vibrant color and brilliant flavors to otherwise average dishes. Learn to identify, grow, harvest, and cook with edible flowers in this hands-on class with chef + farmer Michelle Aronson, of the Farmbelly Cooking School. 

Springs n Spritz

Where: 205 Santa Barbara Street | When: May 19th, 2 – 5pm

Learn how to make Spring and Summer sippers with aperitifs, vermouths, and sparkling wines with mixologist Charlie Morrison.

Discover our artisan chutneys and savory preserves to help create spectacular appetizers and main courses with Jim Hathcock from West Coast Flavors.


Roar & Pour Wine Festival

Where: Santa Barbara Zoo | When: May 5th, 5 – 8pm

Wine tasting event where the animals stay out late and the Zoo is open so guests can stroll and sip. Featuring tastings from more than 20 local wineries, tasty eats available for purchase from local food trucks and Rincon Catering, music, and more!


The Bear and Star: First birthday BBQ open house

Where: The Bear and Star | When: May 3rd, 5pm

Join us for an open house showcasing our 30’ custom reverse-flow Texas smoker and live music from the Ruben Lee Dalton Band. The Bear and Star’s First Birthday BBQ is complimentary and served as long as supplies last. There is NO cover charge for this event.


Toccata at Toscana – A Spring Winemaker Dinner
