Designers and architects started focusing on whites in 2016. White on white became the new interior go-to style as it keeps your home fresh and trendy and it's easy to work with as trends change overtime.
Marble became the new go-to stone in 2016. Marble accessories became big, like coasters, clocks, even marble cups! We saw a lot of marble mixed with different black stones, which gave homes an edgy, but elegant feel.
Antlers were a popular trend this year and fit in to that rustic feel while remaining neutral.
Working with metals in 2016 was HUGE! This trend made exteriors more modern, and interiors industrial and indestructible. Metals have a neutral feel and are a nice transition between masculine and feminine decor.
We saw a change in the cliche neutrals and a shift to new neutrals like blues and pinks.
The seventies came back this year with deep jewel tones. These colors created an ever elegant feel and easily tied in gold accents.
Bold florals brings back memories of your favorite decade: the 90's. Floral patterns for the home came back in 2016 and gave homes a vintage/retro/hip feel while remaining elegant - we aren't complaining!
While a white palate was one of the biggest trends this past year, 2016 was all about adding a luxe touch, which was easily done with furs - throws, rugs, pillows - you name it!
